David Stern feels it's time to turn down the noise and scale back the pyrotechnics at games. He recently called the trend toward loud, fiery in-arena entertainment "ridiculous" and "a kind of assault that we should seriously consider reviewing whether it's really necessary."

Fish and Wildlife officials say two separate hunting parties were stalking the same birds in Woodstock last week. Ralph Townsend, 44, of Hartland allegedly fired his shotgun and hit the two men in the other party. One hunter suffered only minor wounds
